Workplace Wellness Services

Corporate Wellness Programmes are an investment in your company's most important resource, your workers. Studies have shown that workers are more likely to be on the job and performing well when they are in feeling well both physically and mentally. Workers are also more likely to be attracted to, remain with, and appreciate an employer that values them.

Corporate wellness programmes improve company productivity by:

  • Attracting superior quality staff;
  • Reducing the rate of absenteeism and time lost;
  • Enhancing on-the-job time utilisation and decision making; and
  • Improving worker morale, which in turn lowers turnover.

In addition to improved productivity, corporate wellness programmes have been shown to be an effective tool in slowing the growth of health care costs. Selecting healthier options may reduce a worker's chances of suffering from illness. Less illness means businesses can lower health plan utilization, thereby lowering health benefit costs, and consequently increasing earnings. While health cost savings from corporate wellness programs may be less evident than productivity gains, research shows that medically high-risk workers are medically high-cost workers as they use additional health care and generate higher claims.

Having a wellness programme shows your employees that you do care about them and their well-being. Monthly, quarterly or annual reports are available to companies utilizing our programmes. If you take the minimal cost to the company and compare it with the costs associated with training new employees or the expenses associated with laying off troubled employees the result would be fairly obvious. Comprehensive training is provided on an as needed basis to make sure that your entire management team is fully trained and equipped to utilise your Programme. In regards to employees referred, general information is provided to the supervisor regarding the attendance of the employee and if they are being compliant with achieving their goals and objectives. Our productivity reports, evaluations, and employee surveys are provided to you and order to enable you to monitor the success of your programme.

Mental Health Counselling

The practice of professional counselling includes, but is not limited to, the diagnosis and treatment of mental and emotional disorders, including addictive disorders; psychoeducational techniques aimed at the prevention of such disorders; consultation to individuals, couples, families, groups, and organisations; and research into more effective therapeutic treatment modalities. Counsellors' training in the provision of counselling and therapy includes the etiology of mental illness and substance abuse disorders, and the provision of the well-established treatments of cognitive- behavioural, interpersonal, and psychodynamic therapy. Counsellors' education and training is oriented toward the adoption of a truly client-centered, and not primarily illness-centered, approach to therapy.

Counselling is distinguished from other mental health disciplines by both its history and its emphasis. Other helping professions such as psychiatry and clinical psychology concentrate primarily on the treatment of severe emotional disorders. Social work deals basically with the social and legal aspects of assisting others in need. In contrast, counselling and psychotherapy focuses on development and the prevention of serious mental health problems through education and short-term treatment. It emphasises growth as well as remediation. Counsellors work with persons, groups, families and systems that are experiencing situational and long-term problems. Counselling's emphasis on development, prevention, and treatment make it attractive to those seeking healthy life-stage transitions and productive lives (Cole & Sarnoff, 1980; Romano, 1992).

The practice of mental health counseling includes, but is not limited to, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, and sex therapy. The practice of mental health counseling also includes counseling, behaviour modification, consultation, client-centered advocacy, crisis intervention, and the provision of needed information and education to clients, when using methods of a psychological nature to evaluate, assess, diagnose, treat, and prevent emotional and mental disorders and dysfunctions (whether cognitive, affective, or behavioural), behavioural disorders, sexual dysfunction, alcoholism, or substance abuse. The practice of mental health counseling may also include clinical research into more effective psychotherapeutic modalities for the treatment and prevention of such conditions.

(a) Mental health counselling may be rendered to individuals, including individuals affected by the termination of marriage, and to couples, families, groups, organisations, and communities.

(b) The use of specific methods, techniques, or modalities within the practice of mental health counselling is restricted to mental health counsellors appropriately trained in the use of such methods, techniques, or modalities.
