Psychology Student Intern
Christina is completing her BSc (Hons) Psychology degree with Leeds Beckett University and is currently on her formal placement year at The Wellness Centre as a Clinical Intern. She is working toward becoming a counselling psychotherapist, with a particular passion for supporting adolescents and young adults.
Christina offers a warm, empathetic, and motivated approach to her work, drawing on her academic training and practical experiences to create a welcoming space where clients feel understood and supported. In her current role she will be assisting with administative tasks, ensuring clients of The Wellness Centre are supported from their very first point of contact. She also participates in health fairs and public promotional events, promoting mental health awareness and the services of The Wellness Centre.
Christina has gained experience across various areas of mental health, including child and adolescent wellbeing, psychoeducation, and community development. Christina previously served as a Youth Ambassador for the Alex Panton Foundation, where she helped organize initiatives for young people experiencing stress and anxiety. She has also completed multiple internships with the Cayman Islands Government in departments such as Social Services and Behavioral Health. Her clinical interests include trauma in adolescence and young adulthood, depression, and coping. Christina is deeply passionate about advancing mental health services in the Cayman Islands and is committed to giving back to the community that raised her.
When she is not studying or shadowing professionals in the field, Christina enjoys listening to music and spending time at the beach with family and friends.
