What you love most about the work you do?

Feleicia’s client centred approach serves to validate one’s experiences by empowering self-insight and personal growth towards improved mental wellbeing. Specifically, Child Centred Play Therapy (CCPT) is a developmental evidenced-based and play-based mental health intervention for children between ages 3-10 who are experiencing behavioural, social, emotional, and relational disorders. CCPT uses play as a tool to engage, support, and encourage children, in a safe therapeutic space, to increase their self-awareness, acceptance of self, empathy towards themselves and others while working through their inner feelings and experiences.

Her clinical experiences include both inpatient and outpatient mental health primary care, and she works well with children, adolescents and the parent system. Feleicia believes that parents’ involvement in their children’s mental health journey is paramount to ensuring a child feels fully supported to explore and process their inner feelings.

She is also trained in Filial Therapy, which incorporates caregivers and parents playing an active role in providing therapeutic change for children, by increasing the quality of the parent or caregiver-child attachment relationship
