Behaviour Technician

Shantal is a Behaviour Technician on our Developmental Support Services team. She holds an Applied Behavior Analysis Technician (ABAT) qualification and a Level 11 Practical Nurse (NCTVET) certificate. Shantal is originally from Jamaica, and has worked in the human services field for over eight years.

As a mother herself, Shantal is very passionate about working with children. Shantal finds that through her daily interactions with her clients, many of whom have autism, she has learned the true importance of goal setting and the value of celebrating every achievement, no matter how small they may appear to others.

Shantal is committed to learning from her clients and believes that maintaining a positive attitude is an important quality as a behaviour technician. Empathy is at the core of Shantal’s work and building trust with her clients, seeing their smiles, witnessing their improvements, and receiving positive feedback from their families brings her immense joy and fulfillment.
